Teaching files

The entire animal file contains 140 documents made by J. F. Oberlin or by his sons circa 1800. Each sheet features a drawing or an engraving of the animal described. At the top on the left the name of the animal is given in French and in German. At the bottom of the sheet the class, order and family of the animal are mentioned. This file was part of the teaching materials that circulated in the knitting rooms.
